1915 Real Picture Post Card Washington State College Indians Football Team
Trimmed. Was probably 6x10 prior to being trimmed. Coached by Lone Star Dietz, who would become the first Redskins head coach in 1933. He is in the top hat on the left end of the back row. This team would go undefeated, beating Brown in the second Rose Bowl on New Year's Day 1916. Between 1910 and 1919, the Washington State mascot was the Indians, named so because of the succession of coaches coming from Carlisle Indian School.
